Choose one of the following two options to cancel your policy:
- Call Assurant, the company that provides your insurance coverage, directly at 800-432-8612. Select option 7, then option 3 when prompted, and a representative will help you cancel.
- Send an email to renterscancel@assurant.com. Be sure to include your policy number and the date you'd like your cancellation to take effect.
If you'd like your cancellation to take effect on a date more than 30 days in the past, Assurant requires additional documentation. Please email a copy of any one of the following to renterscancel@assurant.com:
- An official move-out statement
- A notarized letter from your landlord confirming the date you moved out
- Proof of another insurance policy in your name
- A receipt from a moving company (the "from" address must match the address on your policy)
If you're owed a refund, Sure will process it and return the money to the card on file within 10 business days.
If you are moving, continue your coverage during your move and at your new residence. Simply call Assurant at 1-800-432-8612, select option 7, then 2, and a representative will be happy to assist you.
